ABOUT ACUPUNCTURE

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Two main ways: Every time we get acupuncture the body moves out of the "fight or flight" response into the "rest and restore" response, calming down the nervous system and triggering the body's natural ability to heal itself. Over thousands of years maps have been created of points all over the body, points that effect the whole body (muscle tension) or specific locations (the right shoulder blade). By choosing points based on your unique health concerns I can target the places that need the most attention.
WHAT DOES IT TREAT?

Acupuncture can treat pain anywhere in the body, but it helps with so much more.

Acupuncture is effective at treating:

  • headaches/migraines

  • hypertension

  • insomnia

  • sports injuries

  • allergies/asthma/sinus issues

  • fertility

  • stress/anxiety/depression

  • menstrual cramps/PCOS/menopause

  • digestive issues

  • pain anywhere in the body

  • recovery from recent illness or surgery

                         and so much more...

TREATMENT
DOES IT HURT?
No. Most of our patients find the experience very relaxing and many even fall asleep during treatment. Acupuncture needles are very different from the hypodermic needles at the doctor's office. They are small, solid, thin and flexible. All needles are sterile, disposable and single use. After your treatment they are placed in a Biohazard container and destroyed.
