Thousands of years of acupuncture has shown that when we align ourselves with nature we maintain an internal balance of health. Here are five simple practices to help you live in the spirit of the Spring.

Plant a seed. Now is the time when the energy is rising both out in nature and inside of you. Plant a seed in a cup. Put it on the window sill like you did in kindergarten and watch it grow. Pay attention to the changes happening not only with the seed but within yourself this Spring.

Get outside and move your body. The birds are out, the squirrels are busy and your pets are waiting. All of Nature is stirring and moving. Join in!

Let yourself feel and release frustration. When you come across obstacles in life, frustration can be a natural response. This Spring instead of squashing it, acknowledge your frustration and release it in a healthy way. Blare some music. Scream into a pillow. Dance it out. Say what needs to be said. On the other side of frustration is a world of possibility.

Get creative. You are very creative so let it out. Bake something, doodle, dust off the guitar, pull out the camera, or join in the finger painting. Now is a great time to get your hands dirty.

Make a plan. The Chinese Classics say that Spring is the time for vision and clarity. Take advantage of the charge in the air and look to the future. Create a plan for this week, this month, this year. What will you do first?

I hope as you come out of the winter and into the spring you enjoy these tips from your local acupuncturist!
